plant the seed and be the light

i don’t have a special music video or verse today but i have something that just struck me. there are people everyday that we are influencing based off our actions and how we respond to situations. these are test that will hopefully be a seed to that person. this summer me and my dad planted corn so we could have some ready when summer was coming to an end. the planter we used dropped about 3-4 seeds per planting. when the corn finally grew we had corn everywhere and some had 2 plants in one area and another three. what i’m trying to tell you is that you cant have enough seeds in someones heart. maybe the time comes for you to water that seed by sharing the word or by living the love of Jesus Christ to them but if you miss that opportunity who will water that seed? maybe there is someone in your life who you are suppose to love and be a light in the darkness to but if you don’t uplift them and bring them closer to God then maybe no one else will and that seed will die. the reason we plant so many seeds when growing plants is we know not all of them will produce. maybe the seed someone else planted was years ago and the person forgot about it or the seed was planted in the wrong season of their lives and it didn’t have a chance to grow. I just feel that we all have certain people that we are suppose to change and if we aren’t in the right mind set to live God’s love why do we claim to be Christians. God tells us specifically to go and make disciples for him and if we aren’t doing that we are turning our backs on God. Luke 6:27 says 27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.” by giving and not expecting and turning the other cheek we are making people wonder how they can be like us! That is why our actions are so important because when we follow scripture people want to live like we do and they yearn for more. so as you go through out your day today, tomorrow and this week. why not ask someone how their day is going, offer to help a stranger with something, give a sincere compliment out of the blue to someone who needs uplifted. We are lights for a reason because light makes the darkness hide and with this power we need to fill others with that same amazing and powerful light of God. when you think of what God wants for you what comes to mind? do you ever get this idea that you think God is telling you but then again you think it might be wrong and possibly your own ideals. our ideals, thoughts and actions can make it hard to think about what God wants in our lives but that’s only because we are looking in the wrong places. God puts things on our hearts and those are the things we feel that are out of the blue and something we could never have thought of in a million years. those passions and ideas we gain that are not of us are what God is trying tell us to do. we try to hard sometimes to think about what God wants when really we just need to trust our heart. now our hearts can be misleading but when we have full confidence in God and put our faith in him then he will never lead down the wrong path. The wrong paths we take are our own desires leading us. i ask you now that if you cant tell the difference between what God wants for you and what you want for you then read the bible, ask your pastor and talk to a friend about it. God isnt going to tell us to our face what he wants for us, but rather show us in our emotions, in the actions of other, in a verse we hear, in the deeds of a stranger. God i subtle in how he tells true believers because we dont need it thrown in our faces. i always expected God to tell me but now i realize that he usually does that when we are in our darkest hour and close to straying away from him. When we truly believe in him he will always be around us and we will know for sure when he is leading us to do something. 

God likes to talk in a whisper because when we hear someone whisper our fist reaction is to get closer so we can hear them better. the catch is that we need to be ready to hear a faint whisper in our hectic and busy lives. I’ve found that if i Pray constantly and even for little things God provides and always reveals him self to him, but usually i don’t realize it until i think back on it and see that the path i followed was the better choice then what i had in mind.

The Christmas time is here and we are suppose to filled with joy and the holiday spirit but i know for a fact not everyone is and they feel overwhelmed. We might be feeling stressed by work, our family, or things in life. all these things have been happening to me. for instance i lost my wallet, car broke down and it cost everything i had to get it running but not well, my mums car got stolen the night before Christmas, and i don’t want to sound selfish but i didn’t get to open any presents for Christmas. This isn’t going to be me complaining to you because through it all i have been able to keep a smile on my face and to show the people i work with that there is something great in my life and it isn’t the stuff i have. We need to let go of all the worldly possessions we have and give into what God has for us. We all have this Pollution and clutter in our lives keeping us from seeing Gods plan for us and through our times of trials and tribulations we feel like we are being punished. The only reason God will put us through trials and temptations is because he knows we can make it out on the other side better off then we were before but it isn’t easy. Going through this will require you to give up things you hold dear to you and maybe not have everything go YOUR way but rather the way God wants it to go. These trials i have gone through within the past month have shown me i care too much about money and things that aren’t glorifying God. God is our remedy but we have to let go first of what we are holding so tightly on to whether it be someone we care about, something in our lives, or a life style we are living. God’s plan is way better then anything we could ever imagine in our wildest dream but it cant be fulfilled until we let him take control. I have decided that I’m tired of being discouraged and down all the time because its not about what is going wrong all the time but rather looking at what God is blessing us with every day. i learned through all this that i don’t need anything but God to be more prevalent in my life. i Pray that you all had a Merry Christmas and that you lived it out for God because he was born, tried, tested and still was blameless. he is our remedy but we have to choose to throw all the other crap in our lives away before he can fully show him self through us.

James 1:19-27 "Listening and doing"

^read James 1:19-27 first^

as a christian we are told  in the first verse, “My dear brothers take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become anger.” being a christian my self i find my self not listening to others well and becoming angry way to fast with situations that aren’t that big of a deal. we need to take this verse to heart and live it every day. “man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” (James 1:20) we need to see that god doesn’t like us being angry with one another and we don’t like being angry with one another as well. i found my self getting angry with my friend today and i am not happy with it and i can only imagine that they are just as hurt as i am, if not more. we how many times do we step back from a situation and think if it is bringing righteousness to god? God wants us to listen and be slow to speak with others around us but i also feel he wants the same when dealing with him. so many times we listen and hear what we want to hear then we tune God off when really he has so much more he wants to tell us. he wants us to listen to his word and the words of other then live out what he has told us. James 1:22 “do not merely listen to the word , and so deceive yourself. Do what it says”. God clearly wants us to get off our butts and go live out the word he has given us. i personally struggle with this. I have so much free time and i usually spend it either sleeping, playing video games or messing about on the computer. none of these things help bring others to Christ. i ask that you wake up pray fervently that god gives you a plan for the day,  after that live out what he tells you. but remember to watch your tongue because the tongue is the root of all evil. Watch what you say when your around others and watch what you say about others when your not around them for gossip and slander does not bring righteousness to God how many times have we spoken out against someone then regretted it immediately after? let us pursue a righteous life that pleases God. finally James says “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:27)God wants us to be living pure lives for him but if we are being polluted by the world there is no way to do that. we need to remove all the clutter in our lives so that we can see God clear and without trouble. what is polluting your life right now? what id keeping you form living a pure and righteous life for God? are there people in your life that you need to apologize for being angry at or not listening to? i ask you this, pray for forgiveness and it will be given, pray for patience and God will provide. Lets start living righteously for God.

I don’t know if your feeling alone or rejected or distant but we need to realize God gave us someone in our lives to help us through this. This could be one person or it could be a group of people but God gave us others to help us through this life. God didn’t send you into this alone he put someone right there next to you to help you while you walk your path. here’s the thing, some of us don’t realize that person is already in their lives. some people like me try to go it alone thinking they don’t need anyone. I’m going to tell you from experience guys, you cant make it through it alone. Who in your life knows you better then anyone else? if you were in an accident right now and had to call someone you knew would be there in a heartbeat who would that be? there may be multiple people you think of and that is great, but some of you might think of that ONE person that means the world to you and you know you cant go through this with out them. I’m asking you to talk to that person and tell them how much they mean to you because God did. God sent his son to die for all of us because we meant THAT much to him. there are people in my life i Love and adore like my fellow leaders at church. they help me grow in my knowledge, and then there is that special someone who is always there for me and helps me grow in the darkest of hours. I don’t tell them they help me grow but yet they keeping sticking by my side through the tough times because God gave me them. Who did god Give you?

Trials, Tempations and the power of Prayer

James 1:2-18 tells us to persevere through our trials and temptations. it tells us that we are meant to be tested because if we aren’t tested then how can we grow, and we cant grow then why do we care what happens to us in the end? if you are a true believer then Satan will test you more then ever because you are the one that could bring him down. James says that God does not tempt us but our evil earthly desires do, so lets not blame him for what we as sinful humans want. remember that these trials you are working through and with are going to make you stronger in the long run. Verse 5-6 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” we need to Pray fervently and with faith that God can get us through our troubles. Have you been Praying because its what your suppose to do or are you praying because you know God can change your life?

Who is you god? do you you idolize Facebook, cars, Famous people or anything else? we live life doing day to day things like checking Facebook and talking to our friends for hours on the phone while we are forgetting about this God that is so amazing and powerful. I challenge you to listen through this and look and think about the words being sung. it doesn’t matter what we go through we need to put time aside and praise god and revive our relationship with him. Our god is stronger, our god is HEALER. he heals anything we have going on and we forget sometimes that he is so much more then anything out there. we pray and we ask for things but do we have the faith to believe he will actually do it or are you praying because you are suppose to? “if our God is for us then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us then what can stand against us?” Think about that for a minute. We have no reason to be fearful of standing out in a crowd, or acting out differently then others because of our beliefs. listen to me when i say GOD IS WITH US ALWAYS. Satan has absolutely nothing on us in our journey with God. Guys we are all on our own walks in life but we all have one thing in common, God is with us through it all and we need to give him praise in the good, the bad and the ugly. This song gets me so hyped for god and i feel so passionately about this and i want you guys to feel what i feel.this is a process we must go through so today and tomorrow pray for god to give you and opportunity to do his will and ask him to give you the courage to go through with it. I’m not going to ask what your going to change or what you think just answer me this. i would love to hear what happens each day.

everyday we walk through problems and issues looking for God. We need to realize he has always been by our sides waiting for us to turn to him and take his hand. give yourself to him and you wont have to try to earn his love. God gave us his love and we spend our days trying to earn it by works while all we need to do is turn and give our selves to him. How many times have you decided to do it alone?  when was the last time you actually put your trust in God?

This one is easy, We cant do this by our selves. its that easy and its such a hard thing to say. but once we can actually give our selves up then the problems we face will be easier to give to God. now don’t get me wrong, once you give your self to God Satan will test you and attack you more then ever, but God will be there and you will feel him there. A life of God isn’t Easy it’s satisfying! Now what are you going through that you aren’t giving up to God? I’ll go first, I struggle with pornography. how about you?

Im not going to lie, this road we are on is a narrow and road less taken. it wont be easy but the joy you will feel while on it will be better then anything else! Give your self completely to God.
